Get you just referred to the DMV for a speeding over 100 mph violation?
The DMV has launched a new pilot program aimed at speeding over 100 mph violation (Vehicle Code section 22348(b)). The program is called FAST (Forwarded Actions for Speeding Tickets) program and it automatically refers drivers to the DMV for review through the DMV's Driver's Safety Office. The action is part of the DMV's Negligent Operator System that monitors negligent driving and the accumulation of too many points on a driving record during periods of time. The DMV is given the task of determining whether action should be taken against the driver, and what that should be.
We are still learning more about this program launched on December 22, 2025. It is unclear what the exact review process will be and whether hearings will be scheduled with hearing officers at the Driver Safety offices.
